The John Strauss orchestra was founded in 1987. At the beginning, Andre Rieu’s orchestra was only 12 people, and now it has become a huge contingent of 40 – 50 musicians. At the beginning, the band toured Europe, which once sparked great interest in waltz music. The recovery started in his hometown of Holland, and in 1997, the recording and performance of the single “second waltz” (Second Waltz) attracted great attention. This piece of music is adapted from the Suite for Jazz Orchestra No. 2 by the Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich (Dmitri Shostakovich), the suite of second jazz symphonies. Andre’s band not only toured Europe, but also traveled to North America and Japan many times. They have won many awards, such as the two World Music Awards, and have won gold medals in many places around the world, such as the 8 time in Holland.
