 用人声模拟乐器是现代无伴奏合唱(Contemporary A Cappella)的一个重要的表现手法。这种形式尤其适合演唱各种流行风格的声乐作品,广受当代青年人的喜爱。
 Using human voice to simulate musical instruments is an important way to express Contemporary A Cappella. This form is especially suitable for singing various popular styles of vocal works, which is widely loved by young people.

Early in the early twentieth Century, the Russian Jewish composer Joseph Achron (Joseph Achron), in his work “the Salome dance”, tried to humm the melody with the voice of the musical instrument. By 1960s, Swingle Singers, a non accompaniment chorus group, which had won 5 Grammy Awards, made a bold adaptation of Baroque and classical musical instruments, and used a number of voices to mimic the sound effects of the entire symphony orchestra, such as the bass instead of the Cello Sound.

In modern times, the use of human voice to imitate musical instruments is widely used in the field of pop music. In the hip-hop and rap, Beat boxing is often heard, and it has also become a rather fashionable word.

With the development of electronic music, the use of imitation of musical instruments has been more extensive and free. The most striking thing is the German Van Canto metal band. Apart from drums, guitars, bass and keyboard parts are all synthesized by human sound effects.

Since 2000, the modern accompaniment chorus has made considerable progress in Hong Kong and Taiwan. At present, there are many active chorus groups. For example, the public bathhouse (The Public Bath House) and the mysterious uncontrolled (Semiscon) vocal orchestra are all the leading characters in Taiwan’s unaccompanied chorus circle. There are also excellent orchestras in Hongkong, such as Hongkong youth melody, Nova and Gay Singers.
