楚国的漆器文化

楚人生活在一个漆的王国中，生离不开漆，死也离不开漆。其生时使用的日常生活实用器具和娱乐用品是漆品，死后丧葬用品也多用漆品。生活用具如漆杯、漆碗、漆豆、漆盒、漆卮、漆盘、漆勺、漆方壶、漆案、漆俎、漆几、漆杖、漆箱、漆床等；娱乐用具如漆鼓、漆瑟、漆琴、漆竹笛等；工艺品有如

漆鹿、漆座屏；丧葬用品有漆镇墓兽、漆木俑、漆棺等。

楚国漆器的胎体中占绝大多数的是木胎。楚国漆木胎的制法主要有斫木成、卷木成型、镟木成型以及雕刻、拼接等。所谓所木成型，就是斧砍刀削而成型，漆耳杯多数是采用整木块挖内成型，然后削其外形。卷木成型，是将木板卷起来之后做成器物的胎体，如漆奁、漆卮等的器壁一般都是这样制成的。一些胎体较厚的圆形器物、如圆盒、樽等采用镟木成型的方法，其内空部分采用挖制，而器表采用漩制。在楚国本胎漆器胎体的制作中，最富于艺术特色的是那些采用透雕、圆雕及浮雕工艺加工成型或再进行拼合的器物。如虎座飞鸟、彩绘木雕座屏等。
