雷琴：又名“雷胡”,20世纪20年代出现的一种拉弦乐器。是中国著名民间艺人王殿玉（1899～1964）在坠胡的基础上改革而成，它较坠胡音量大、音域宽、音色美，最早称之为“大弦子”，“大雷”。1953年正式定名为“雷琴”。

雷琴音域宽广、音量较大，音色柔和圆润，富有丰富的表现力。既可独奏、重奏或合奏，又可模拟人声，戏曲唱腔、鸟兽啼叫和多种乐器的音响效果。

雷琴经过多年的艺术实践，已经积累了一批曲目，所奏戏曲流派唱腔，如京剧“梅派”、“程派”、“谭派”、“马派”、“余派”和评剧、河北梆子、河南梆子的著名演员唱段，均惟妙惟肖，颇受群众的欢迎和喜爱，俗称“大雷拉戏”、“单弦拉戏”、“巧变丝弦”。此外，雷琴还能模拟笙管合奏、军乐鼓号以及民间小调等。
