With minimal manual intervention, the 3D print out this full featured concert flute. Each part of the flute need different materials: the flute body needs a kind of hard material, and its use is also a mouthpiece, also with a soft sealing material. In order to use multiple materials at the same time “print”, he used a Connex500 3D printer output its own CAD design. After 15 hours of printing, he just had to remove the supporting material, add a spring, and assemble the four parts to become the flute that can be shown in the picture.
