边棱音气鸣乐器。“八音”分类中“土”的代表乐器之一。用陶土烧制。起源于古代狩猎部族模仿鸟兽鸣叫诱捕动物的工具或玩具。

XUN: CLAY VESSWEL FLUTE OR OCARINA

Edged tone aerophone. It is one of the typical earth instruments in the ancient Chinese ba-yin (eight categories) classification of musical instruments. Made of baked pottery clay, this clay vessel flute developed out of a tool to trap animals and birds by imitating their sounds, as often seen in ancient hunting tribes, or out of a children’s toy.
