边棱音气鸣乐器。通常用单根紫竹制，取九节，长约80厘米。竖吹，顶端有一吹口，一般有六个侧孔，前五背一。洞箫发音幽雅、柔润、清细。音域为：d¹～e¹。常与古琴一起合奏。

DONGXIAO: NOTCHED OR VERTICAL FLUTE

Edged tone aerophone. The common type is made from a single nine-joint black bamboo, about 80cm in length, with six finger-holes, five at the front and one at the rear. It is blown vertically from a mouthpiece on the top. The instrument, ranged d¹～e¹, produces graceful, soft and delicate tones, often played with the qin zither.
